Seen worse,I just shaved.Just proves what my teachers taught me when I took my first First Aid Course,40 years ago,a little blood goes a long ways. Other than that when the nurses get the dried blood off ,you probably wont look that much worse than normal, other than an abrashion/fracture to the nose and some road rash under the gauze on your cheek.By the way you should complain to the paramedics that transported you about not cleaning the blood up so you could have looked better for the nurses on arrival at the emerg. I would have!

Thanks to all well-wishers. It looks a lot worse than it feels, but that could be the Lortab talking.

Sorry about the crash. I had a broken orbital floor when I was hit head-on by a car in 2007. The recovery from the surgery and repair left funky tastes and smells for weeks afterward.
Smell memory is very interesting.

Ouch....Get well soon!

I did a face plant a while ago...I had a tiny little cut above my eyebrow (a bit deep...probably should've gotten a few stitches) and it was bleeding like mad. I remember people looking at me because the side of my face was covered in blood.

And yeah, next time, have the paramedics clean you up for the nurses...they;re no longer impressed by the 'lots of blood yet still tough'-act.
