I'm SO angry...

No need to tell the details... is more or the usual, wife *****ing, kids whining, so many bills to pay, college assignments I can't do due to wife and kids *****ing and whining, pressure at the office, deadlines that need to be met... I'm at one of those points in life when you just want to scream and break something up... but can't even do that, it would scare the kids and give wifey an excuse to ***** even more.

I've drank a full bottle of wine, it keeps me from braking stuff up (alcohol calms me down a bit). I'm looking at my bike lights, my bike and my gear. I have 4 bottles of water, a 2ltr camel back, some energy bars, five bucks (for refueling the water) and 100 bucks on the ATM. Believe me... I'm tempted to get on the bike with my gear and pedal away till I ran out of water/bars/money... at my current state of mind I'm sure I can get all the way to Georgia, maybe South Carolina... and @$#%'em! @$#% everything! Bunch of ungrateful sons of...

....PS: Edited to keep the mods from being angry as well.... I just needed to vent a little... well... a lot.

A young and successful executive was traveling down a neighborhood street, going a bit too fast in his new car. He was watching for kids darting out from between parked cars and slowed down when he thought he saw something. As his car passed, no children appeared. Instead, a brick smashed into the car's side door!

He slammed on the brakes and backed the car back to the spot where the brick had been thrown. The angry driver then jumped out of the car, grabbed the nearest kid and pushed him up against a parked car shouting, "What was that all about and who are you? Just what the heck are you doing? That's a new car and that brick you threw is going to cost a lot of money. Why did you do it?"

The young boy was apologetic. "Please, mister... please, I'm sorry but I didn't know what else to do," He pleaded. "I threw the brick because no one else would stop... " With tears dripping down his face and off his chin, the youth pointed to a spot just around a parked car.

"It's my brother," he said. "He rolled off the curb and fell out of his wheelchair and I can't lift him up."

Now sobbing, the boy asked the stunned executive, "Would you please help me get him back into his wheelchair? He's hurt and he's too heavy for me."

Moved beyond words, the driver tried to swallow the rapidly swelling lump in his throat. He hurriedly lifted the handicapped boy back into the wheelchair, then took out a linen handkerchief and dabbed at the fresh scrapes and cuts. A quick look told him everything was going to be okay.

"Thank you and may God bless you," the grateful child told the stranger.

Too shook up for words, the man simply watched the boy push his wheelchair-bound brother down the sidewalk toward their home. It was a long, slow walk back to his car.

The damage was very noticeable, but the driver never bothered to repair the dented side door. He kept the dent there to remind him of this message.

"Don't go through life so fast that someone has to throw a brick at you to get your attention!"

God whispers in our souls and speaks to our hearts.
Sometimes when we don't have time to listen, He has to throw a brick at us.

It's our choice to listen or not.

thx guys... I needed your comments badly... and the kitten hug too....

I'm now preparing the bike gear... I need to get out of here... I hope the alcohol wears off soon and I get some daylight. I have no idea how much battery life I have on the lights. It's 1am and I doubt they will last more than 2 maybe 3 hours. I'm gonna lube the chain to kill some time... but I need to ride... really...

Well... turn of events here. And I should make a freaking book about my life because the drama never ends.. Seems some convicts escaped from a penitentiary near by and I now have 2 choppers (one police and one news) flying in circles above the neighborhood.

As I am putting some air on my bike tires, wifey came all scared asking not to go on a night ride because she fears those ex-convicts could end up here and invade the house... so NOW I'm good for something. Thanks God I do love my children (not that I believe in the God anyways). ARGH!

My nephew is in a wheel chair. And even though your story sounded like something from a chain email, I couldn't help but get all choked up. Sheesh....... Thanks Suzie for reminding me what a sucker I can be.

You guys are gonna think I'm exaggerating but this is what happened...

I got out, no water or anything, just wanted to test the lights around the block (2am over here). In less than 0.5 miles I got 2 helicopters got their spot lights fixed on me. Few seconds later, 3 police cruisers stopped me... I showed my ID and told them "..I live on this neighborhood and just went out for a night bike ride"... they check my info out and then told me to "get my ass back home and look after my family"... they said some criminals (I assumed the escaped convicts from the news) are armed and there was a shootout already and an officer got shot... can you believe this ****? This is the type of things that happens to Ruben on a daily basis...

Now I'm here regretting not buying that .40 my boss wanted to sell me... with holster, safe box, ammo and everything.

Having seen countless threads like this that you've been posting for quite sometime maybe it's time for you to stop whining on the internet and actually do something to change your situation. No one here can do it for you. It's gone on long enough, hasn't it?

Nope... my youngest, the girl, is only 2yo... I have a few more years of this to go trough. Even if I divorce this sh1t will follow me everywhere I go because I care about my kids and that's my aquilles heel.

Now I'm gonna spend the night on the living room, watching movies on the laptop, paying attention to every effing sound on the outside of the house, listening to the news, making sure everyone sleeps OK and keeping and eye for the bag guys... probably get some homework done while I'm at it.

But again, is like a scene from an effing movie... with the choppers still patrolling the area and all... I should have gotten the helmet cam with me... this is just nuts.

Not sure you want help, but just in case. Stop drinking when you have problems, it doesn't help fix the problems. If you drink, reserve it for times when you don't have problems. For example, you say you are behind on assignments, well, drinking a bottle of wine ain't going help get them done, is it? But, it will help you to forget about them.

Learn to handle stress without drugs. You might as well. Life is stress, death is relaxation. Learn to embrace the pain of life, like you do a nasty hill while riding. It will make you stronger, if you don't hide from it.

HTFU dude.

Fighting with the wife and kids and you drink a bottle of alcohol then run away on the bike? That's not the way to handle the situation.

Geez Ruben - you're getting it from both ends. Perhaps for the better in this case, I've gotten pissed and had a few in me and took off on the bike (city) and while my riding was safe, I took a few chances I shouldn't have. No more of that. Hold there guy, things gotta get better.

Guns in safe boxes don't do you much good for home invasions, unless you have time to retreat to your safe room, and get into your safe box. Un-secured loaded guns around kids ain't good either. Think things like this through thoroughly and practically before jumping.

As far as your stress...besides commuting to-from work, which allows/allowed me to work my riding in as part of my day...I also used to split wood by hand. Splitting a cord of wood works out a lot of stress! (but loose the booze)

PM me if you need to vent without scaring half the neighborhood.

Who's doing the 'whining' now, Mr Kettle?

Foo is a family...if you can't deal with family matters, perhaps you should scurry off to the road forum and complain about people who don't wave.

but he has a point, though. I just prefer not to comment because I can't fully realize the magnitude of the whole situation. I've personally witnessed some messed up stuff first hand, and while it might be easy to just advise the person to get out, it's not as easy for the other person to do that. I'm sure that if there was an out, he would have taken it.

Divorce in the US is an absolute ***** for the husband. If it's anything like what someone in my family had to go through, the problems only pile up faster. And if the woman is just as bad as he makes her seem, she won't have mercy.
