Were you the class clown?

Foo seems to me to be mostly made up of the "class clown" types....I think its what "Foo" is all about.

Would you say you were the "class clown" or at least in the top 5 in your high school class?

We didn't have an official voted class clown, but we did have "most spirited" which was probably a close equivalent. It was down between me and another guy (who was part of the cool kids clique). He ended up winning and I came in a close 2nd. He later came to me personally and apologized because I should have won....he said he knew he just won because of popularity. That was nice of him.

I was definitely our class clown. How about you?

I was voted "most likely to be seen sleeping during class"
I have always been a minimalist, even when it comes to effort... (graduated in the top 10% though.)

I wasn't a class clown- not shy, just quiet- but really only out of my shell around my good friends.

My school didn't do the "most likely to..." thing, but had they, I'd have probably been a contender for "most likely to be completely forgotten five minutes after graduation." No class clown here.

I think many schools didn't do that......that's why I mean "in your estimation" did you think you were the class clown.

I was Class Clown 1983 at JFK Middle School in Eastlake, Ohio. Mighty proud of it. I was voted in by a landslide. 97%.

Class Clown? Nope!

I was the class punching bag. Well, up until the day that I decided I'd had enough!

Yes...but only because I had a reputation and everyone was afraid I'd beat them up if they didn't laugh.

Actually, I was pretty quiet in school...didn't really get a sharp tongue until I went into the Marines....where it is a survival skill.

I'm sorry I stuck you in that wall locker, man. I really didn't know there were other kids already in there.
Glad the therapy helped.

I was the quiet kid who sat in the middle of the class to avoid being called on. You know... the type voted most likely to go postal. It's always the quiet ones that loose it.

I was actually voted most likely to succeed. I was your prototypical nerd-athlete. 12 varsity letters and 1st board on the chess team. Look where that got me.

Not me. I was always the one who couldn't control my laughter and ended up incessantly giggling at the class clown. Because of that I often got into more trouble than the clown actually did. He had this way of quickly disguising his actions so that the rest of us took the rap for him. I did get a letter sent home one day for wearing a skirt that was too short....more than 1" above the knee.

when I was about 25 a woman from my HS started working at my job - we had never really spoken or anything in school, but we had a good laugh talking about the old school over drinks at happy hour together.

She was one of the brainy valedictorian types. She told me a whole bunch of dirt on people in her clique and also other cliques, all of which I had no clue about (kids found going at it in the school closets, etc.)...quite an eye opener for me.

The best was when she asked me how I could have possibly missed out on all the rumors and gossip and I told her I basically showed up for school in body only. (I was a straight C clock watcher nonentity and one of the few guys there with long hair....all my friends were either older, younger or at other schools). But she made my day when she said everyone she talked to when my name came up was "very" afraid of me.

Mind you, coming from her poindexter crowd that doesn't mean much, and the irony is I am the biggest pansy on earth and always have been....but it still made me smile.

I was a quiet kid that was only loud around friends. My brother (yr younger) was a total class clown, so much so that half way through high school I became known as "Patrick's brother". That'll kill your spirits.

I did lose prom king by a vote. I'm proud of that.
