Do you have SAD?

Seasonal Affective Disorder that is.

My wife has it and it can get to be a bit of a bother but we have found that the right lighting does help. I sometimes get her to go for a walk and she chippers right up.

what are some of the tricks you do to help lesson the affects of SAD?

Good thing I don't pick on her during these times or she would have my head in a vice.

My brother does. He had/has a full spectrum lamp that he uses when needed.

Vitamin D supplements, verilux happy light for 15 to 20 minutes a day. Oh yeah and Clonazapam. I think it does more good than the first three. Anxiety induced by lack of light and the seemingly endless Pacific Northwest winter can drive ya nuts. This year has been extremely bad for me. I gained 15 lbs since last September. All I want to do is eat and sleep but I'm riding to work tomorrow so hopefully it will be the beginning of the end. I vow that next year its gonna be different the family is joining the YMCA I'm not letting this happen anymore

Hmmm, have yet to know someone who acknowledges it as a disorder. I personally do deinfitely not have it...I am quite happy, winter, summer, fall and spring. The only problem is my pollen allergies which make me dislike spring...but that has nothing to do with mood disorders, just with feeling like crap because I am sneezing my head off.

I worked with a guy that has it. His doctors st thim up with a special visor with little lights under the bill. He claims it really works and he feels like it's a sunny clear summer day with it on.
