Stigmatized property, would you live in it?

So, would you live in a stigmatized property?

I would not mind living in a house where someone died a natural death, but would not live in one where someone was murdered.

My Mom got a couch from an apartment place where she worked. The man who lived in there was found dead, chinese mafia style (guess he was set afire or something like that after he was shot). Mom for a long time felt rather weirded out about the couch ...

Quick note on that.

When I was a kid we lived in a small place. There was a room built on that my parents had and my brother and I shared the only other bedroom. I used to tell my mom I saw an old woman in the closet sometimes. She said not to worry about it, yadda yadda yadda.

Years later when I was a teen she told me that the house had been previously lived in by an old woman who'd bedroom was the one my brother and I shared. She had died (natural causes) in that room. She (my mom) thought that I was seeing a ghost or something of her, but as it never seemed malevolent in any way (it never scared me as a kid), she didn't get scared about it.

meh....the earth is how old? There's probably not a single spot where someone hasn't kicked the bucket due to one reason or another. So, yeah, I'd live in one. Maybe the ghosts would be kind of cool.

my eyes are so tired today. I read that 3 times before I realized he was not found murdered and burned ON the couch.

Reminds me of a nature type show I saw once. I remember them saying there is not one drop of water on the earth that hasn't passed through some digestive tract at one time or another.

I wouldn't have a single issue with it.

Somehow "long walks on the fish poo" doesn't have the same ring to it in a personal ad.

About 20 years ago I had a friend that bought a Porsche Turbo Carrerra really cheap - the owner had a massive heart attack in it and wasn't found for a few days; needless to say, the car had an 'aroma' to it when first bought. Apparently the owner loved the car and kept the thing in tip-top shape, and my friend got it only after showing the owner's son pictures of the other cars he'd bought and fixed up. He got the upholstry redone, cleaned up a few other things, and the car ran like the finely-tuned machine it was for quite a few years until my friend had to sell it in his divorce (wish i could have bought it but my finances were shot at the time-it was a sweet ride!). The new owner wrecked it within a month, and we always though it was because the dead guy's 'ghost' didn't like how the new owner treated it.

From the article: This is a home with a condition which is psychological in nature rather than a matter of bricks and mortar.

Can I get my stigmatized home a therapist and solve its psychological condition?

This would not bother me in the slightest. I am reminded of a paramedic call that I did many years ago. A man committed suicide by handgun after learning he had a terminal medical condition. He did so in the enclosed shower. This made the mess very easy to clean up and spared his family the hassle of tearing out the carpet, repainting the wall and the like. After we showed up and confirmed he was dead, the medical examiner took custody of the body, the police took all their pictures and evidence gathering, and then the senior police officer on the scene took the handheld shower and rinsed everything down the drain. No muss, no fuss.

Didn't they try that in Amityville? As I recall, the house did not appreciate it.
