ATTN Spacefacers or Facespacers (whatever you call yourselves)...

This is a PSA. Someone in my Comp II class let everyone know of a scam that is going on Facebook/MySpace. Which ever uses the IQ tests.

Check your cell phone bills carefully. Apparently, there is a scam that if you take an IQ test, it will ask for your cell # to send the results to. Unclear if you get the results, but you do *get* slammed with a $19.95 fee for a premium subscription service of some kind. It does not disclose that you are signing up for anything.

The girl contacted her cell phone provider about the charge, and they are the ones that gave her a heads up.

Does not surprise me. Remember that numbskull newbie in DC that was sitting in on a NSC meeting and wanted to impress the voters back home? He was twittering about the meeting in real time.

Such IQ tests are usually designed to make the taker feel good. If you have a room temperature IQ, you will have no trouble answering all the questions. If you actually believe the results proclaiming that you are a genius, you are an idiot...

this, I tried it out, only a few questions, not enough to measure the scope of your true IQ.
