Alright Foo doctors. I need a diagnostic

Today, I did a 60 mile ride, pretty fast pace, I nearly bonked, you get the idea. Well, I've got this strange pain. Right after I take a deep breath and exhale, there's a pain that starts right behind my sternum and travels up, stopping in the back of my throat. Is this just from dehydration, or is it a little more serious?

    It means you're dead.

Well, I would like to have some brains, but I wouldn't call it a craving.

I had that same kind of pain after a long ride once. I ended up having to have three heart valves replaced.

It does not sound like anything that a lot of painkillers cannot mask. Just mask the pain and ignore it and it will either go away or kill you.

it's a sign that you will cough up your lung.
Food for thought: if you aren't dead by 2050, you and your entire family will be within a few years from starvation. Now that is a cruel gift to leave for your offspring. ;)

Well, during the first part of the ride, I was sucking down Gatorade and Gu gels. We stopped and got Cokes and a package of Fig Nutens (however the heck their spelled), and then I was drinking water for the remainder of the ride.

You can have my FredVest if I die.

    Yes. I concur, doctor.

It is a frequent result of prolonged exposure to purple fuzz fibers.
