yyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh.......no:toiletgrab:

pgoat 04-18-09 10:00 PM

Now you are a man?

pgoat 04-18-09 10:01 PM

speaking of now you are a man, I was channeling young man H Dog on my ride today (and AEO and Wolfie and everyone else here who can kick my biking butt) - good inspiration.

sorry Tech that was more of a semi hijack than a discussion

timmyquest 04-18-09 10:11 PM

I'm sorry.

TechKnowGN 04-24-09 11:34 AM

Its ok Pgoat, we all understand the ADD is hard to control. :D

AEO 04-24-09 11:56 AM

think about it, if everyone became a triathlete there'll be no need to have houses on land. everyone can live under the sea.

DataJunkie 04-24-09 12:00 PM

Cycling, walking, and bowling. Does that make me a tri geek?

Psydotek 04-24-09 12:01 PM

Sorry, but only road cyclists know any bicycle handling skills. Triathletes have none.

Wait, wrong forum... :D

[i'm a triathlete too, sprit distance so far, but triathlete nonetheless] ;)

TechKnowGN 04-24-09 12:03 PM

Mine was a sprint too, though the speed at which i did the biking portion was anything but "sprinty". I'll be cycling up a storm this next two weeks for sure.

UnsafeAlpine 04-24-09 12:13 PM

yeah! Congrats! My tri was a helluva lotta fun. I'd like to do another one. :)

So, how'd you do?

Velo Vol 04-24-09 12:36 PM

Why must triathlons include swimming?

Bikes don't float.

Depends on the race too. I've gone to a tri that was canoe, run, bike.

That might be something I could handle.

Yes! You weren't in last place! That's freakin' sweet! :D

TechKnowGN 04-24-09 10:30 PM

I finished last, but i must have been a much better swimmer and somewhat better walker than the woman who was last. SHe smoked me on the bike by at least ten minutes, but i beat her overall by 7 minutes. Problem is the computers screwed up so most of the splits got lost. Its almost totally a guessing game.

Ah... My transition times were so stupidly slow... I ran over to the port-a-potties between the bike and run... :p

TechKnowGN 04-24-09 10:43 PM

I did pretty well, other than sitting to put my socks and shoes on. i was pretty quick otherwise on that portion. my ride was *****.

I'm the background person, being a race official for a marathon - and going and being a road marshall, etc (wherever they need me) for other tri's, etc. I enjoy them - and have to give everyone a huge thumbs up for doing it too!

There's a tri at Cayuga lake here in August or Sept - and I've been down there the last two years and there's one contestent who is a girl - who obviously had a huge accident - who comes out in a wheelchair in a wetsuit - someone lifts her off and puts her on the beach and she then manages the water and swims. Usually after I see her go in - I run up to my job where I stay for the next couple hours - I've seen televised races where handicapped racers have accompniment and I'm thinking that's what she does as well for the rest of the race. One hell of a person!

I don't race but I love being part of it and making sure things flow smooth, etc.

Wordbiker 04-24-09 10:50 PM

You'll need a speedo.
