Kitten update

3 weeks old yesterday!

Kitties are sitting up and getting around pretty good now - slightly wobbily. And they're starting to groom themselves (they're funny to watch them lick a foot and then fall over as they try to wipe it on their head) and play with each other.

And the two biggest ones are showing signs of wanting to eat so I'll be starting that this week.

This is Birdy. he/she is the runt by a long shot ---- and the most fiestiest! And it gets mad when it can't get in for a nipple and so I hear all these angry high pitched meows coming from the cage - and I know it's Birdy. The rest of the line up is (starting at mother's head) Cream, Tabitha, Ming, Red, Peaches --- and Birdy laying on top of them all. Peaches & Cream are the two biggest, Peaches usually has her tongue sticking out too.

I tried to get Ming. Adorable coloring - the paws are a smokey gray, and the tale has a distinct gray striping on it. Ears are a dark gray - and the face is cute with a little gray around the nose - and it's nose is nearly black.

Happppy kitty

Maybe Birdy's nickname should be Napoleon.

hehe - Birdy's small enough - I think a little manilla envelope will do ... what's the addy?

Tonite is the first feeding. I'm sure they'll be wearing some of it when I leave. Plus they're going to get the run of the whole cage and not be hampered by the big container I've got them locked into now.

Just curious, but how goes progress to find homes for these fine felines? If it weren't for financial and other reasons, I would otherwise be happy to adopt one of them.

AEO - RAWR!!! Grandma's claws are out!!! The babes will be cute 4ever!

That said.

I snapped some darling pics tonite on their first feeding. Got some good ones of Ming too. <crossing fingers>

Am listening to two very unhappy dogs not liking what their owner left for them to eat. Rather surprised - that yucky cheap, yet expensive plastic playdoh kinda food was left for them - the stuff that has fake looking steaks, peas, etc - and every piece you can squish. Ick. May have to make a quick run to the store tomorrow for some medium brand dry dog food.

I did not think it was possible to overdose on cuteness. I wish I lived closer, I'd certainly take one.

Lady Tude,You need to ensure that you're using the proper masculine/feminine names for the little ones. Can you imagine the blow to Birdy's ego if it turns out to be a male and not a female, reminds me of the old Johnnie Cash song "A Boy Named Sue". Or the reception the grizzled old battle scarred tom would get when he introduced himself, Hi,my name is Peaches.

I know - but his/her (I'll check tomorrow) name came to me as I listened to this little angry chirp - and most angry let me tell you. I'm sure the future owner will name him/her something more fitting. But for now - Birdy sticks. A little cutie too.

I want the grey tiger striped one. Rochester isn't that far from Toronto is it?

No. No. No.

One cat is enough.

I already have one cat.

One cat is enough.

hehe - when I went in there this morning all I saw when I opened the door was 6 little faces and bright eyes staring at me over the edge of their container. Awwwwwww - And all I had time for was to dump food in the mother cat's bowl, grab my work clothes and go hop back on my wet bike and get to work.

Started in with the real food last night, will continue tonight.

Score: Tude=0, Kittens=6, plus two wobbled into the food. But I left them last night as they were all enjoying a "joint" bath as they got the food off themselves and their siblings.
