My "new" scoot. $500. The original owner couldn't track down the title. Found it in CA from the original loan person and they mailed it to me this week. Just need to fix an FI issue, buy tires, put it together, and get the legal stuff in order and I'll be ready to rock. Can't wait to start riding this summer.

Bonus points if you can tell why it's not just any old suzuki sport bike.

I'm not in the mood to destroy this one just yet. I figure eventually that may happen, but I definitely want a bike for the street. I wanted a Triumph Speed Triple, but unfortunately the 1050's are still going for about $6000-$7000 used. I ditched an RC51 last fall/winter because of the cost of owning a new bike with payments/insurance (especially a 1k, but insurance companies see cc's and not engine configuration or power) and the fact that even though it's probably the most fun I've ever had with a motorcycle, it was uncomfortable as hell.

I have a 2000 RC51 I bought new. Great motorcycle to take out and scare the hell out of yourself for 2-3 hours.

Its the Thundering Monster Twinzilla !! A '98 ??
That thing F'n rules !!!!
With a set of Yoshis that makes a noise that might be the best in
motorcycling. Only a big Duc comes close !
Great find !

Im looking now too. A little Ninjette 250/500 or old Suzuk gs500

.::EDIT::. Ok, I see Akropoviks on it ?? Wow, nice !

I had a set of Satos on my '05. They were banzai mount cans on the low mount mid pipes, loud as hell.

I'm f'ing angry. The guy that runs the tiny little loan company mailed me back the bill of sale that he signed and cashed my check for $50, he said the title was long gone and there was nothing he could do about it. Thing is, he cashed the check as soon as he got it about a month ago. I told him to send me my money back. If they don't, I'll find out who his local cops are and call them. I'm just going to apply for a lost title and hopefully that will work.

'Screw the legal stuff'

Yet again, incontrovertible proof that Motorcyclists are all Total Idiots.

Not that it's very hard to find. Just look at them on the road.

Uhh, a bike ridden only offroad or on a track doesn't need the bits and bobs that make a bike street legal, nor paperwork.

Uhh, there is virtually no such bike in the real world. See, in the real world, the idiot bikers ride the bike to the track on the road without the paperwork. Ask my neighbor, the cop who writes them all tickets on a daily basis.

I realize some people are beyond garden variety stupid (and I've heard the rates of completely unlicensed riders out there), but I'm talking bikes with no headlights, taillights, indicators, license plates, or provisions for any of that.

There are plenty of morons (there's a loud-pipes-save-lives ape-hanger idiot having a party down the street as I type this), but there are plenty of good ones, as well.

It was only a matter of time before one of BF's resident Fred Phelps random assaults

Uh, I know lots of real people with dedicated track bikes and they all trailer them to the track.

At the 3 trackdays that I have been to, I'd estimate about 90% of the bikes were trailered in, snookums.

The other guys were all killed riding to the track.

I think it's somewhat presumptuous of you to call me snookums toots. I hardly know you. But it does raise my resting heart rate above 60, so that's something.
