New camera, trying to learn how to use it.

Just picked up a new camera and took a few pictures yesterday. So far the main thing that I have learned is that I have a lot to learn.

Here are a few of the pictures that I have taken so far.

Thank you. I bought a Canon Rebel XS. I thought about getting the XS-i but I really don't think that I would be able to tell much of a difference between the two, at least not $270 worth of a difference.

Thank you, Alley is my baby. She is seven years old now and I can't imagine life without her.

I'm no expert but I'd say you're ready for the photo competition threads. Nice!

I have taken over 13,000 photos with my camera and your worst is better than my best, so I don't know what you are worried about.

Thank you all, compliments are most appreciated.

I just placed an order for a new lens and flash. I am really looking forward to receiving them. It's amazing how much those things cost, and I purchased cheap ones!

Which lens and flash did you get?

My next lens is going to be a sigma 30mm f/1.4. You're right they aren't cheap.

I bought a Canon EF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 III Autofocus lens and a Canon 430EX II Speedlite TTL flash. I "only" spent $416 this time. I'm trying to decide on a macro lens to order on payday though.

I just returned my Canon Rebel XS camera to wal-mart and then headed over to Ritz Camera. While I was there I purchased a Canon Rebel T1i. It is pretty sweet, I am really looking forward to playing with it here in a little bit after the battery finishes charging.

Here is a link to it.

I was tempted to pick up the EOS 50D but I just couldn't justify the extra money. Other than losing a couple of pictures per second I believe they are pretty comparable. On top of that the T1i does 1080 hd video!!!

The Canon 60mm f/2.8 EFS mount macro lens is a fun lens. A friend of mine has it on her XT and I played with it for a bit. I'm not much of a macro person, but I'm thinking of looking at the Canon 100mm macro.

I ordered the Canon 100mm f/2.8 EF USM Macro lens last week. It should be here tomorrow or Wednesday. I enjoy macro's quite a bit so I am really looking forward to it. I purchased it at www.jr.com and got an incredible deal on it. I purchased it for $455, they have now raised the price to $565.

B&H used to carry a two flash kit, with the wireless module. You can get ETTL 2:1 lighting ratios...
