Why grown men shouldn't scream like a little girl

Went for a hike with some friends. One of the friends walked up on a snake coiled up in the middle of the trail. Hilarity ensued. I didn't know a human being was capable of raising their voice by 27 octaves, but I saw it happen and I still get tickled thinking about it.

Snakes are scary as hell....having said that, none have ever made me squeal yet.

Awesome!

I see water snakes in one of my favorite hiking spots all the time...it's fun to watch them catch fish.

I've encountered more than my share of rattlers during hikes.

The rattlers have made me jump a bit now and again, but none have made me scream. I do think I would wet myself laughing if I saw someone scream that high, though.

I could never understand why people are afraid of snakes. Even non poisonous ones. Leave them alone and they won't attack you.

I was cutting grass with a scythe last week and a 7 foot fer-de-lance decide to leave and go elsewhere. Everyone wanted to hunt him down and kill him, I told them the best way to get bit is pick a fight with a fer-de-lance.

wrong. Never turn your back on a water moccasin, cotton mouth, or water ever else you want to call it. They can be aggressive and charge you, like to drop from the trees into boats, been there and done that.

The ones you see are no problem....its that one you don't see, and its not moving until after you've stepped on its tail.....that will make for a bad afternoon.....for you and the snake.

Well at least you saw that other large reptile. Now who was on a table screaming like a little girl?

NOTE: Payback from the mountains...

Hey! You found little Esmi! I always knew you was baad to the bone. Now get one of those large cockroaches (waterbugs?) to fly around and land on me and you'll hear a scream!

The title of this thread led me to believe this would be answered. Instead you just related a story about a friend screaming like a little girl. I want either my money back or an answer as to why.

Because I am going to tell everybody and get a laugh at his expense? I really don't know.

When I was checking out the finca we live on, I saw this big boy. He is 8 foot long. I didn't notice him till I was two feet away. The log was at eye level. No, I didn't scream, but I suspect my eyes got a bit larger... This picture was taken without zoom.

i was once under my car changing my oil and looked left. a huge striped black and red thing was right next to me. i never moved so fast in my life. once i got my balls back, i went back to see that it was all of 1.5 feet long. still, that f**ker surprised the hell out of me.

I once step with in 2 feet over a sunning copperhead, it was nice enough to give a nice loud "HISSSSSS" to voice his displeasure at me being so close. I didn't scream(much), but I could have out sprinted Jesse Owens, and you could see my heart beating from the outside.

hehe - In the 70's/80's hung around with a large local crowd and there was one guy in there who squealed - and some of the other guys took great pleasure in pranking this guy - who luckily was good natured - but I must say - thinking back on his gurly scream is rather funny.

As for snakes - they don't bother me - in fact even within the past couple of years - I was doing a sidejob at a graphics place and I get a phone call from the big boss to go over and help them remove a snake from the next door building - and sure enough there was a snake. hehe - it was a newborn garter snake about 6" long and I walk into 3 people standing on chairs as this little snake is raised up like a cobra.

the only thing that makes me squeal is when I come home all tired, or just woke up, walk barefoot in the apartment and step on a hairball....those things are nasty.

I need to go to Mom's house and get some pics of Dad and scan them into my computer and print some out. I think I'll look for my album of all the animals I've had, jackson chameleons, tarantula and of course caesar the 10-1/2' boa.
