How do you relax / meditate?

I find the best way to put myself in a relaxed state is to juggle. There's something about the hypnotic patterns that puts a person into a trance-like state.

I think I have short attention span syndrome. Listening to people talk for too long a time puts me in a trancelike state.

I watch Esteban infomercials. If he's not on, I channel surf, looking for Billy Mays.

I when realized I should not worry about the things I cannot change. My life got a lot simpler. I knit sometimes, and i do modular origami, and do not worry about the final result.

There is not much to meditation, because it is an absence of thought. Not that it's easy, but the theory behind it isn't very complex.

I draw. It soothes me because I usually get depressed when I don't feel like I'm doing something fun and/or productive.
I really like this thread, It's soothing because I also do a lot of the things other people do. Like go for an extremely long shower, I get too restless in a bathtub from lying down too much, and I'm drinking a beer as I type!

I ride my bike

Oh, and I also do yoga and knit. Not at the same time.

Purring cats are excellent aids to meditation., and yes, I must also agree about the beer. Mmmm. Beeeeeer.

Take the ol' industrial-size Blend-O-Matic to the local preschool.

Will it blend? You're damn right they will.

*sends some kitty purrs to Siu*

(seriously, the cat's sitting on top of the computer, that's GOT to mean we can transmit the purrs somehow!)

I used to meditate, but then I took up cycling and there was a time conflict ~ cycling as mediation won.

I also putter in the backyard, pull weeds. Also knitting.

Working in my shop is extremely relaxing and rarely do I get frustrated with any piece of work but the best thing is wheel building.

After that... scotch and big honkin' naps.

I ride.

I eat fire. I drink beer. I do photography (taking and editing photos). Combining the middle one with either the first or the last works, as well.

I like infomercials too, but mainly as background to relax by reading the newpaper.
