Would you wear your skinsuit to a church tailgate?

I'm thinking about going to my church tailgate party tonight (outside) wearing my spandex road riding clothes. Do you think this is appropriate as it is a church event and I would be around little kids? (in otherwords, I'm worried that parents might think I'm a gay pedophile)

If you think it may be a problem, then it probably will be. If you are coming from/going to a ride, and that's why you're wearing it, then that's explainable. You could always put on a regular pair of shorts over you riding suit to cover up a little more.

if i were a 5 year old at church and saw a guy wearing as much spandex as a road cyclist wears, i might giggle, point, and ask my mom "what's up with dat?"

Its about a 20 mile ride there. I don't want to carry a backpack with spare clothes. Ill be wearing the shorts no matter what, but If i am going to wear regular shorts, they will be over my cycling shorts. As for the jersey, it is HOT outside and I need something that is sweat wicking and will not be as hot as a regular T-shirt. That is why I want to wear my skinsuit.

Wear the skinsuit. The bike will do all the explaining you need.

A mini skirt would be easier to pull on than shorts. However, that may raise even more questions. I think the best solution would be to stop going to church.

Wow! Your church is sponsored by Ironclad? That's awesome.

I wore real shorts over my lycra. Funny thing was that since they're so long they got caught on the downtube shifters and I nearly got hit. It was fun, and I stuffed my face before coming home.

That's a pic of the tent we set up in Moab every October for the 24 Hours.

It serves as shelter for neutral support mechanics, kitchen and table for meals, and on Sunday we hold a service...so yeah, it's a church. I've been a part of Ironclad since 1997.

Don't most of us want to act in a manner that pleases our hosts. Bike shorts with a long, loose jersey might not cause concern. A skinsuit.. Maybe your church is the church of the Holy Triathlon. ?
