Kitten Update! 6-1

They turn 9 weeks old tomorrow - time has flown. Taking pics tonite for Craigslist ad, cept for Ming - she's staying.

Speaking of Ming - don't know what it is about this ducttape roll - they love it. It has hundreds of little kitten claw pokes in it. My room is littered with their favorite toys, i.e. candy wrapper, couple of fuzzy mice, toilet paper roll, stuff.

Here's Ming in her formal wear ...

And it's Birdy's turn next.

This is Yoda. He whines to ya, especially if he's half asleep - his large ears hang down and his eyes are at half mast.

Innocent Baybehs!

Ming & Birdy (the two females, rest are boys)

Peaches working over Number 35 Serta Sheep (and yes his name is Peaches)

They stay in the cage now when I'm gone as they're into everything. But their cage is decorated ala Dr. Seuss with lots of hanging things and beads and stuff to do.

Or sometimes they want to be tall ...

Or just hanging in the sun

And don't forget BigBoy who is just now really acknowledging them and not Meowing and running off (after all that was HIS room at one time).

cute little fuzzies! Ming just keeps getting cuter.

One of these days you'll come home to find they got just fat enough to not get out of that roll of tape.

OMG Yoda looks just like my sweet Genki that left me in January.

So does mom come around at all?

Yeah - Mom and I had to part a couple weeks ago, she's not an indoor kitty plus she has the most horrible bowel movements imaginable - X8 or more times a day - I mean it woke me up out of a sound sleep - since I was one on one with the cat family in my bedroom, I've since wormed her (and kittens) and she's looking lots better (I mean she ate like a fiend, snit out - UGH, and then discovered a plate on my table and I could just about beat her (of course I didn't) and she wouldn't stop trying to get at to eat what was on my plate. I lasted with her till the kittens were 6 weeks old. Week 5-6 was horrendous.

She's outside now - looks good and I feed her. Have a call into an agency that neuters feral cats, I contacted many places around here and ALL are overbooked - like each having 100 cats in the system so the least I can do is neuter her and let her go. I DO plan on asking the agency, once they meet the cat, if they have any suggestions for her future, besides neutering and letting her back outside. I do not plan on being here for more than a few more months as I need to leave this place. I will do what I can for her.

That's good Tude. I think neutering would be good and then maybe if the agency can find a place for her since she's been a bit domesticated.

If I was closer I'd love to consider Yoda though.

<sniff> Yoda has become quite the babe and I had to type a little while ago one handed as he was curled up and purring in my left hand.

He and his "older" brother, Peaches, have a huge personality - so much more than my little Ming. Have been working with Ming, but she's quite independent and seems to want me when she needs me ... they all have different little nuances actually. But the two light color tabby's are the most "spectacular" in the way they interact with people.

I had a couple of responses to my wanderings on the internet for other places to stay and have had a couple of decent responses, my area-ish, commutable no problem - AND willing to take in not one but 2 cats, however these places are for rent June 1st and I have to respond back that while I may have been a little early in my search - because I have other kitties to deal with - but please keep me (and I have them in my file folder too) in mind in case they could not find anyone for their place.

I must say the pictures don't do these little rascals full justice. If circumstances were different (no allergies, and not two sweetheart Shih-tzus already in the house), I would have brought Peaches and Birdie home with me. Birdie makes the cutest little sound (like a bird).

Hope you can quickly find good homes for them, and get mom fixed right after the next litter pops out.

Could be, she held her milk for a week, and had 4 big ugly arse tomcats descend on her and three other females in the area. It took but 4 days. Right now "kittycat" is the dominant female out there and keeps all others away. Hopefully she isn't, but I do not know. Personally I don't think so , and am hoping so, as she never exhibited the telltale signs of being in heat.

Doing the best I can.
