State Song

My state may have it's screwed up points here and there, but even if you live in New York our state song is better than yours.

Yes dear, usually you hear it in the beginning of Spring via tourist ads - surrounding states probably hear it more than you or I do.

There is also New York, New York - but I think that just references NYC

Michigan's song sort of sounds like Oh Tannenbaum.. Reminds me of Christmas.. I like that.

Yeah, I don't think Hoagy Carmichael ever wrote a good song for Illinois.

Georgia wins. Willie's version is awesome, too.

Better still.... Brother Ray and Willie singing "Georgia on my Mind" together.

I'm also of the mind that Ray Charles version of "America the Beautiful" should suplant "The Star Spangled Banner" as the national anthem.

^^ I'm guessing Lyle's "North Dakota" would work well, too. ^^

California's "official" state song is kind of stupid. I like this one better:

Be curious to know why. Few state songs can be as bad as many National anthems. ! Some get really brassy

Yes, the Swanee River and mosquito's do have a lot in common, but how is it they have the same name?
