NIN & Janes Addiction - Charlotte

I just got tickets for $10. If you live around here and like these bands, you can't afford not to go.

I want to go but may not be able to go.
I just saw NIN in Greenville not too long ago. Man, what a great show.
Friday I get to see Brad Paisley and Dierks Bentley. My wife loves country music so I will enjoy it for her. If that's possible. Maybe KMFDM is opening for the show.

US$10? NIN, yeah...Janes, I wonder if they can still throw down, or if they're a sad desolate parody of themselves.

For Brad Paisley? Probably not.

Yes US$10. Even if JA doesn't have it anymore, it's worth for the price of the tickets.

If it's anything like what I saw with Flea on TV, it's the latter, sadly.

Eric A. might give them a lift but I'll admit I'm disappointed he finally caved.

But yeah, for $10, wth?

NIN will make up for whatever Janes doesn't bring. Trent and Co. can belt out a show like none other. I had goosebumps for days after greenville.

Since when can you even park at a concert for $10? Did I miss someone finally burning TicketMaster to the ground?

10 bucks for tix? That means the CD's at the show will be going for $50.

I wouldn't be surprised if the beer was cheap, but they charge a cover for the bathrooms.

You've gotta sit through David Navarro for 90 minutes - that might be payment enough

This, I believe.

Eric A's gotta eat, too, I guess.

All I gotta say is how do you go from nothing's shocking to Rock Star: Supernova!?! *sigh*

That's all I'll opine on that.

Not any more. NIN is independent. He gives his music away through his site - for free (sometimes).
Or at least extremely cheap:

Ghost $5 total or the first 9 track for FREE

The Slip - FREE

Remixes - FREE

Yeah, not judging the man. But it was nice to see someone resisting the reunion BS for once, just on principle.

Here's a stupid story. I was dating this girl and she went to a NIN concert without telling me (strike one). She tells me two days after, and says they got really drunk and drove home drunk from San Diego (strike two). Not related, but because I need a strike three, she was having gynecological problems and suggested she become celibate (strike three).

For some reason I've never wanted to listen to NIN since. I'm going to check out those free tracks from Ghost, hopefully I'll change my perspective.

Principle don't buy a whole lot o' pulled pork, though, and God knows I loves me some good pulled pork.

What is this, some half-@ssed attempt to recreate Lollapalooza '91?

That lineup's no good until Living Colour and Body Count get added.

I wouldn't mind reunions so much if bands did new material (or rearranged the old stuff)...even if it's inferior to the old stuff, at least it's not butchering your memories. I cringe when i see the Perry Farrells and Robert Plants of the world popping geriatric O-rings trying to hit notes they could barely get in their 20s.

Having said that some reunions are ok - X was quite good...a little slower tempo, but otherwise they were great.

I saw that one too. Siouxie was cancelled tho (illness....their makeup show was well worth the wait, however).

Robert Plant specifically stated that his inability to hit those notes is why he won't reunite with Zeppelin.

Get Raising Sand. He and Allison Krauss (and T-Bone Burnett) made a fantastic record. It deserved any awards it received.

Oh no. I saw Ice-T on TMZ last night b/c I couldn't sleep.

Ice-T is not your v.1 '91 version.

The horror...the horror...

Was this a special or something for $10!? I wonder if it was that cheap when they just came around. Last few times I saw Trent and the boys was for $40+ and I just assumed that's what this tour was for, so I passed.

I might have to kick myself.

I'm sure it's way better than the zeppelin reunions. Let's face it - Plant hasn't been able to hit those high notes since 1975. Why not just accept your aging body and use what you have to make new music?

I read somewhere that Page was exasperated with Plant for not capitalizing on the buzz generated by their recent reunion....easy for him; he's got a guitar and amp to do his screaming for him!
