Why would she do this?

My dog just got up off the couch, walked back here where I'm typing away on the computer, sat down and ripped a huge fart, then went back to the couch; almost as if to say "Hey, I want to make sure this isn't wasted on just me. Enjoy."

For dogs, smells are a major form of communication. She probably thought she was telling you something.

When ours let one rip, it's usually just done in place, but is often in proximity to our noses.

Your dog is just getting you back for all the times you farted in bed when he was under the covers

Just relish in the nastiness of it. You know you'd do the same to your dog if you felt a good one brewing.

If the dog could talk it would've said, "That one was my fault."

The dog and I both sleep without covers, but based on what The Girl says about both of us, I'm willing to believe this explanation.

The dog dropped one the other day that chased myself and a friend out off the house just so she could lie in front of the air conditioner.

ha!
My cat and my father in-law have gas issues.
The cat would walk by my father in-laws chair and let one rip. Thus, stinking up the entire living room.
The best part was my mother in-law would blame my father in-law for the infraction.

The only way that would have been more perfect would be if you were yawning at the time.

our dog has blamed her own farts on us. She'd drop a bomb, then look around like "what happened?" She'd then look at us, give a sigh, and walk out of the room.

I have two kittens who spend most their time in my room - and I realize one is laying on my desk - his little ears stand up and he's looking at me.

Uh-oh.

He takes a leap off the desk and one more leap and he's on my bed - running up my leg toward me to nuzzle my face.

And farts, literally right.by.my.nose.

I cannot tell you how many times they have done that to me.
