Its got to be simpler than this.
I have a 50" plasma, a TiVo HD expanded to 1GB, and an antenna. I get tons of uncompressed awesome broadcast TV. Life is good and it is $10 a month for the TiVo.
I also use MLB.tv. That, my friends, sucks a big one. Bad sound, stutters in the stream (although the HD is pretty good). Plus, they screw up on frustrating things that are hard to explain - like if you start while the live game is playing then pause after it has ended then you can't access the stream anymore and have to wait 2 hours for the "archive" to be ready.
So, I've got an unused satellite dish on my house and a cable coming to my TV Computer (for internet). Both DirecTV and Time Warner sell MLB Extra Innings. Awesome.
Here's where the suck comes in. You have to buy a freaking "base package" before you can add the sports package. I'm not spending $40 a month for crap I don't need so I can spend $200 for crap I do.
Why can't these media companies understand that the world has changed and people no longer need their "bundles"
I am a free, waiting to be had $200 a year for whatever company wants me. Neither of them do, so instead I have to get garbage service from the MLB.
