It just seems that way, really look back at the good things that have happened in your life and see how many times bad things really truly followed, you'll see it's a lot less than you thought. the brain seems to remember the bad stuff more than the good for some reason or another .

I find my weeks and years balance out that way. A crappy beginning usually ends on a really high note and visa versa.
