We must be about the same age. Mel Brooks was all over early HBO too. And DEFINITELY Grease.

Never had HBO....had most on VHS and/or DVD (now). Grease was one of the first VHS tapes our family ever got and I watched it many, many times. Mel Brooks was on TV a lot back in 80s, then got DVDs somewhere along the way too.

As far as which movies I've willingly seen the most times -- which, in the era of cable TV is still a dubious designation; i.e., there are a lot of movies I've seen multiple times simply because nothing else was on, so I'm not sure I'd count them -- the ones that come to mind are

- Wim Wenders' Until The End Of The World
- Martin Scorsese's Last Temptation Of Christ
- the Maysles Brothers' Gimme Shelter
- The Rocky Horror Picture Show

The Fifth Element

Ruby Rhod!

BZZZZZZZ! ZZZZ! BZZZZZZZ! Are we green? Super green!

Honorable mention to Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring. When I learned that my favorite all time story was being made into a series of three movies, I think I went bat s**t crazy. I remember seeing the trailer and going nuts when the balrog's leg stomped into view.

I saw it nine times in the theatre and dozens of time when the movie went to DVD.

Still, I don't think it comes close to The Fifth Element.
