My Siamese cat does that. I draw the line when he tries to jump on my lap.

That's too funny. And true. My cat will beg to come in and then stare at me when I open the door.

I think they just prefer they have access to where you are, not that they want to be with you.

My cat follows me to the toilet but not my husband. Hmmm, because mine smell like roses!

My dog doesn't follow me into the bathroom, the bathroom is where The Evil BathTub is.

The cat I grew up with never tried to barge in on anyone in the bathroom. He also expected privacy while he was using his litter box. He was a cat with an abnormal sense of manners.

That may be the most accurate portrayal of cat behavior I've ever seen.

they strike when they know you can't move.

You never own a cat. They just happen to put up with you while they live in your house. I am not a cat person. But my wife likes them.

    my cats are scared of:
water spray bottle, evil shower, vacuum, thunder, garden hose.

and then there is my one cat that's not afraid of any of the above.

My cat is like a dog a little. He listens. He lays on command (mostly) and he tries to eat anything I offer him. He loves licorice, lettuce, tomato, avocado...but not ice cream (shrugs).

Yeah, same with teh kitteh. It's hell giving him a bath, but since he's partly an outdoor kitty and gets blood, dirt, and other crap on him, he needs baths about once a month.

Teh bf and I are cat people. In fact, when we get our own place, we will be *those* cat people.

One of my horses was like that. One time I had him on the cross ties in the barn aisle while I sat next to his stall eating my lunch. He kept pawing the floor with his front hoof to which I replied "no! cut it out!" since he knows he's not supposed to do that. He did this a couple more times and I finally slapped him on the leg (not too hard) and yelled a sharp "No!". I figured this would end the nonsense but it got worse! Next thing he was literally hopping on all fours! So I looked and discovered that the poor guy needed to pee. If you haven't owned a gelding or a stallion, well let me just say it is usually *very* obvious when they need to go. So I put him in his stall and only then would be pee. He would never pee in the barn aisle.
