The local scene

I started listening to some local music again. The Denver area scene seems to be a lot of dark American. 16 Horsepower, Woven Hand, Slim Cessna's Auto Club, The Denver Gentlemen, Jay Munly, Drag the River, Ghost Buffalo. It's a pretty interesting sound.

What's your local scene like?

16 Horsepower is pretty cool. I got an album of theirs online from one of the MP3 sites a few years back when a friend turned me on to them.

This is Seattle....our local scene is a lot of grunge/Earthy sounding rock type bands. Pretty good usually.

Ya, I notice a lot of emulation instead of originality. Very sad.

I am stuck in the 80s. We have a cool new band here, Edie Brickell and New Bohemians. I think they might go national.

Sacramento brought the world Cake, The Deftones, Groovie Ghoulies, Oleander, and Tesla.

As for currently, I have no idea.

The Deftones are an awesome group. Tesla, not so much.

You really shouldn't slam books around if you know there are people in them.
