    Are you kidding me? The Allman Brothers Band ROCKED the 1970's. Check out their "Live at the Fillmore East" CD for an amazing performance.

    I agree with all of this. In Memory of Elizabeth Reed from the Live at the FE is arguably the best jam ever done in the 70s. Even better than Whipping Post, IMO. Speaking of the ABs, how about Eat a Peach (the most ironically, sardonically named album ever)? The whole album, but especially Melissa and Blue Sky.
