When I Was Little...

I used to think the ladders on the backs of RVs led up to a swimming pool.

I thought "going steady" was "going study" and it was some kind of hybrid activity where the girl was your girlfriend, but you only "studied" together for tests and such.

DAD told me that when I swallowed my gum - it would just stay there and get bigger and bigger - AND if I chewed my fingernails - they would eventually stick out of my stomach thru the skin.

I thought UPS trucks were like SWAT vans for the Universal Police Service.

I thought Harrison Ford was the president of the United States when I first saw the movie Air Force One.

...I knew the lyrics to ALL the theme songs of the ALL stuff I watched on TV and drove my parents absolutely nucking futz singing along. In Japanese. Come to think of it I stil know the lyrics to some of them. *randomly sings Sailormoon R theme*

...I thought that I could clean up "fake snow" (a.k.a. Cornstarch) that I sprinkled all over hardwood floors by pouring water all over it. Yeah...my parents were pretty pissed about that

Wow, I used to think these same things, too!

When I was little, I used to think "each other" was one word, like "echuther" and I could never get it correct on a spelling test. I have relatives in Orr, MN, so I always used "orr" instead of "or" in my writing and the teacher could never understand how I could spell "Massachusetts" on my spelling tests but I could never get "or" correct.

I wondered why miners weren't allowed to go into the pub... I figured they worked hard and could use a cold drink after a day in the mine.

And why they forbade miners in a town where there was no mining.

Was it because they were really dirty ?

When I was growing up the pubs still had separate entrances for men, ladies, and married couples and closed over dinner time.

My grandpa never lost his Russian accent. I understood very little of what he said.

I thought that old guys that winked at me were just being nice. Now I realize that probably 50% of them were pedophiles.
