I conquered a fear today

what are your fears? pick one and tackle it head-on this weekend!

happened to cruise by a red cross donation around the corner from my house. I've been saying for almost a year now I should donate, but then my tri training got in the way. I donated once in HS- 2001 ish? I tried one other time since and was turned away because I didn't weigh enough. The first time I donated I passed out, and it kind of freaked me out, but I have been determined to give it another try. Having plumped up a few lbs since my HS days.. I meet the 110# minimum, yay!! And-- no passing out. Double yay!!

I'm OK with needles, but I have a mild fear of blood (usually my own). I even looked DOWN AT MY ARM while they were drawing blood. thats huge.

you'll be ok. Just don't look at the needle. It really doesn't hurt.

That one sucks because you're afraid of BAD news. This one is fun because its for GOOD!

or at least, thats as optimistic as I can get about the whole poking/blood stealing thing.

good for you, think about the people you are helping.

i dont mind donating, needles, or blood. I can't due to unknown medical condition and the stuff that shows up in my blood stream.

I've been told I am borderline TM but they need my blood type so I keep donating. I'm a tubby so no worries about passing out here

Congratulations Arti! I've donated for years and I still can't look at my arm. When they do the stick, I turn my head and close my eyes. They always ask if I'm going to faint.

I'm afraid I'm going to get run over by an idiot driver. But apparently I've conquered it as I keep going out there for more punishment.

that's because there hasn't been a verdict! lol. still contemplating the little house with the big tree. waiting for some revelation that tells me "this is the one"- I guess if it sells from under me, the revelation should have come sooner.

lol yeah, I wondered about that W, also. I think it might have been for the location? But I did let them know I was a wussy, so who knows.
