This is why you are so miserable.

You live in the wrong place. According to the authoritative sources @ Yahoo News:

Top 5 World's Happiest Cities
1. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
2. Sydney, Australia
3. Barcelona, Spain
4. Amsterdam, Netherlands
5. Melbourne, Australia

I've spent alot of time in Rio. I can tell you its too much of everything good with the happiest most beautiful people Ive met....Baja de Tijuca, Leblon, Ipanema, Copcabana...... the worlds greatest beaches

The Girl from Ipanema

Writer(s): jobim/gimbel/demoraes

Tall and tan and young and lovely
The girl from ipanema goes walking
And when she passes, each one she passes goes - ah

When she walks, shes like a samba
That swings so cool and sways so gentle
That when she passes, each one she passes goes - ooh

(ooh) but I watch her so sadly
How can I tell her I love her
Yes I would give my heart gladly
But each day, when she walks to the sea
She looks straight ahead, not at me

Tall, (and) tan, (and) young, (and) lovely
The girl from ipanema goes walking
And when she passes, I smile - but she doesnt see (doesnt see)
(she just doesnt see, she never sees me,...)

They lie. Sydney residents are known as a bunch of crazy people driven to madness by the insane traffic (well, for Australia anyway) and only a few years ago they had full on race riots at Bondi beach. NO ONE lives in Sydney for a relaxed, happy lifestyle. Serious.

Rio de Janeiro? OK, I don't know that much about that city but I thought it had one of the highest murder rates in the world!

I have to say that I think someone just made that list up.

I moved from Melbourne and I'm happier where I am.

Perhaps the sad and dreary weather in Melbourne makes the people seem happier than they are?

1. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil carnival- you'd be happy too if you lived there with that going on
2. Sydney, Australia Yep, they don't have to put up with Franks and Pelosi
3. Barcelona, Spain Spanish women are hot. I'd be happy living there too
4. Amsterdam, Netherlands Ganja is legal there, of course they are happy
5. Melbourne, Australia Same as Sydney

so, is there a 'most miserable' list? and if so, did Morrissey compile it?

There are at least two cities on that list I am dying to visit, and reckon I may never go back home when I do...

I'd be miserable in all those places...

My friends and family are all here and they are what make me happy and whole.

Now... if I could move them all with me things would be different.

Actually, it's a scientific fact that humans need at least a week of a hard-freeze (sub 15F lows) in order to kill off the brain parasites.

Alcohol has been a good substitute, but unfortunately it kills a few brain cells along with the parasites.

Incorrect. Our neighbors are far too distant. 5 acre lot minimum here.

I was thinking the same thing I'm not miserable, I have moments. Winter can be a drag if it is longer than 3 months. I would not give up having all 4 seasons Fall being the best of all of them.
