What ever happened to butter mint candy?

As a kid (over 40 years ago yikes ) my aunt would regularly bring me a tin of butter mint candy. The candies were off white kind of yellowish, football shaped but flat on two sides. Maybe a 1/2 inch long. It was a soft candy. The candies were not wrapped. They came in a flat round maybe 10 inches or so in diameter. If I remember correctly, the tin was off white or yellowish too.

I can't remember the brand name.

Does anyone remember these candies? They were probably horrible for your health but they were delicious. I have looked in a number of candy stores for these mints and have not been able to find them. A search of the internet brings up those horrible wrapped hard mints you usually get at weddings.

No it is not those little hard square mints you get in a little cup at weddings. These are fairly large and very soft.

If they are the ones I am thinking of, everyone meet at Tude's mom's house for mints.

Maybe. Pretty close. I thought the ones my Aunt would get me had an all yellow tin but I could be wrong. At the time I was more interested in what was inside.

But for sure the right sized tin. Don't tell me you had this at home? Or maybe found the pic on ebay?
