Costa Rica roads just got more dangerous

I just passed the road test for my motorcycle license.

It only took three tries.

Cool, but why'd you chase Joe and Heather off? Was your driving that bad?

You should move CR, before you run over yourself. Wait, what?

Pretty good for the dirt roads here and inside the plantations.

I'll just make sure to stay off the road when I am driving.

Why on earth would you need a license to operate a motorcycle, in Costa Rica, of all places? And what exactly does the riding portion of the test entail, anyway - doing a knack-knack while jumping your bike over a chicken?

Where I live, there is no traffic, but the Central Valley is about a million people, most of who are certifiably insane when behind the wheel. I am not sure what it is, but take your average shy Tico who is polite almost to a fault, and place him behind a wheel and he thinks he is in a bull ring!

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

Sounds like where my Brother lives, in Cebu, in the Philippines. Nice people, but suicide drivers, mostly there. I spent 2 terrifying weeks there a few years ago.

We now have both a bulldozer and a backhoe. I think it is a good strategy to have the bulldozer in front and the backhoe behind in a peleton when I am riding my bike.

One of our employees has just about every license you can have here, everything from motorcycle to large truck to heavy equipment. He is about to complete the list and will then have a universal license. He is an excellent driver and I always have him drive if we are going somewhere together. He helped me get my license as well since he is more than a little practiced at it.
