T's and P's

Some say that if someone has a tatt, most likely they have piercings. Some even go as far as to say that they are addictive.

I've had my ears pierced since I was 8 or so...just the traditional one on each earlobe. I do have a tatt that I had designed and took a long time to finally decide to have it done. It has a very special meaning and is in a place that is not easy to show off with the way I dress.

I won't do more tatts or piercings though.

What are you thoughts about doing so being addictive? If you have T's and P's how many of each do you have and do you feel it has affected your life? What I mean by that is the stigma that goes along with them.

I had my ears done twice. Both sets have grown closed. I also have one other piercing. I don't really wear much jewelry, so that is my one "adornment". I'm also working to perfect the tat design that I want. It will be quite personal and meaningful to me, so not put in a "public" place.

Do I find it addictive? Hmm...I don't know. Perhaps. I find myself thinking about getting other piercings, but not sure how soon that might happen. I know others who find enjoyment in the process, so I guess like so many other things it could be addictive for some.

If you were pieced by something, why yes, they do count.

3 piercings. Don't really care about them much but I might get one more later. 2 tattoos and want more, I have lots of designs going on.

Piercings: I have had a number (4 or 5?) - none of them visible while clothed so I shan't comment on them here...
Yes, they are very "addictive" to me in that I got a huge high from getting new ones done and have to be guarded to not get new ones all the time.

Mine were intensely personal, very few people know about all of them, most people don't know about any of them - I'd like to get more but my lifestyle doesn't give them much of a survival rate.
Several tore out (I've got significant scarring from one), several others never quite 'settled down' and were healthy... but I loved having them and I hope to get several put back in and new ones done in the future.

Ink: After spending a few years on a design I have settled on exactly what I want. It will cover quite a bit of area, but again, nothing that would be visible unless I start taking clothing off... It is waiting in line behind a bike and saving some money - so maybe I'll start on it in 12-18 months? I expect it will take 9-12 months to get it done and 'fleshed out' from start to finish.

Yeah - I have had plenty of work done and hope to have quite a bit more work yet to go... but its focus is inward.

have Ts, have had Ps. Looked at the latter as temporary, and they were. Looked at the former as permanent, and they are.

I had 8 piercings but throughout the years have removed them all, I only have three tats and have plans for more. The tats were never a bother in my life but as a FiteFighter the piercings had to be removed ever time I reported for duty! I guess thats why I no longer have them, got a bit tiresome taking them out and putting them back in just to repeat the whole thing four days later.

used to have left nipple pierced, took it out recently, no intention of reinstalling it. No tattoos, just can't decided at this point I'll probably never get one.

I've had 7 piercings. I'm currently down to 6, although I don't think I usually wear half that many in at a time. Most of them I've had long enough that they won't close up without something in it.

I don't have anything unusual, though. I have 5 in my ears, my bellybutton, and I had my nose peirced. I'd kind of liek to have it re-done, but I am not sure if its "appropriate" at nearly 26. ?

I've thought a lot about a tattoo, but never really decided what exactly it would be or what I want to permanently ink. The piercings I've gotten, I've been happy they are temporary (no stretched gauges, either), so when I "outgrow" it or whatever, I can take it out.

My mom and sister are both considering a tattoo in memory of my dad (different ones, I think). I just don't feel its the right thing for me, for now. I hope they aren't disappointed if I decide not to get one (I am pretty sure they understand), although I have told them I would like to go with if they do.

As for being addicting, I'm not so sure. Generally, I don't have an addictive personality- but it is quite a rush!

fixed for generalization.

I cannot explain the desire to you other than just to say, I have always wanted to get this piercing done since I sat to get my first set of earrings. *shrug*

it takes all kinds to make a world. why ask why? everyone celebrates life in their own ways.

I'd much rather people pierce this or tattoo that on their own bodies than hurt others, start wars, etc etc.

Appropriate?! **** appropriate! I'm 44 and just stopped wearing my plugs a few weeks ago! and not because they were "unappropriate." just because. **** what people might say or think, live life your way Arti, it's a lot shorter than most think.

getting your penis/vagina pierced has nothing to do with being a man or a woman, personally I think a real man/woman are those persons that take care of their children from birth till the day they die, but thats just me.

Good Point..

I have nothing against piercings at all...I honestly don't give a rats ass what the hell you wanna poke a hole in...it's the piercing of the actual love stick that I just don't get..and I've heard that piercing the kitty can desensitize it. and/or cause random orgasms...how much truth there is to that, I have no clue..

I don't wear any rings/plugs any more, but at one time I had 1/2" plugs in both ears, along with a series of 3 more rings on each side. I took them out when I left the university setting and went in search of a corporate science-geek job. Never bothered me all that much to leave them behind. The last time I wore anything in my ears was when my fiancee had to get some CT scans at the ER and asked me to hold her earrings. Hospital staff looks at you funny when you're a big ol' Sasquatch wearing dangly dichroic sparklies.

I've got about 17hrs of inkwork, and all of it can cover up with a short-sleeved shirt. I wouldn't say it's addictive for me, since I've gone years and years without the desire to get any more work done. I've kicked around a few ideas, and then put them aside.
