suicide video

This is a project that a friend of mine did for an animation class. It is a graphic depiction of his suicide. Let me know what you think of his work.

This is NOT real

I don't blame you at all.

That is why I have clearly warned people what is on the video.

Interesting, I was expecting an animation though, not live action.

What! An H&R break-open single shot? I wouldn't be caught dead with one of those. Other than that, I thought it was killer.

Thanks for sharing this with us, you f'in' ******.

Did you post this thinking nobody would be reminded of horrors that may have been visited upon their lives?

Or did you post it assuming others would be hurt, but it was worth it because you may garner some nebulous interweb leetness for cinematography?

You have a choice to watch it. He (she?) plainly stated, it is a graphic depiction of a suicide.

I will not be looking at this. I do, however, want to know what is meant to be accomplished by the "graphic depiction of" suicide. Is this supposed to give us empathy, or just to shock us? As far as I can see on the surface, there is nothing to be gained by that type of video. Certainly I could be missing something significant by not watching, but I will not take that chance. This is FAR to serious of a topic for there to be any chance of misinterpretation.

Your friend should shorten or eliminate the credits and other stuff. The piece is 80 seconds long and only 30 seconds is content.

The credits and stuff were actually pretty good imo...it was the content that needs work..the lighting is horrible..the overhead shot of the dude was shaky and I wasn't so keen on the music

I'm not going to answer questions about his production. Casey welcomes any questions you have about the video.

The only question I can answer about this video would be "why did you post this here".

I posted the video here to get some people to tell the creator what they think of his video.

No, and fortunately for you I am fortunate not to have personal experience with this. But I am also confident that some of our foo-friends have had their worst days revisited just by reading your thread title. And then to read in the topic that you have assembled a graphic representation for teenagers at school to watch, well golly pal don't mind if I think you're a thoughtless tool looking for some shock value.

The point I was trying to make was the credits and other stuff were too long. They comprised over 60% of the length of the piece. The guy kept showing his name over and over. In a piece this short, we really only need to see his name once.

thanks for your comments.

BTW, I really don't care one bit what you think of me(this was posted here to get your thoughts on the video).

Thanks again.
