Old songs ever just invade your brain?

Sometimes song from my younger days just pop into my head for no reason (well, maybe there's a reason for some of them ). Anybody else ever have that happen? Post one and discuss. This one visited my cranium this morning.

SQUEEZE BOX
The Who - 1976

Mama's got a squeezebox
She wears on her chest
And when Daddy comes home
He never gets no rest
'Cause she's playing all night
And the music's all right
Mama's got a squeezebox
Daddy never sleeps at night
Well the kids don't eat
And the dog can't sleep
There's no escape from the music
In the whole damn street
'Cause she's playing all night
And the music's all right
Mama's got a squeezebox
Daddy never sleeps at night
She goes in and out and in and out and in and out and in and out
She's playing all night
And the music's all-tight
Mama's got a squeeze box
Daddy never sleeps at night
She goes, squeeze me, come on and squeeze me
Come on and tease me like you do
I'm so in love with you
Mama's got a squeeze box
Daddy never sleeps at night
She goes in and out and in and out and in and out and in and out
'Cause she's playing all night
And the music's all-right
Mama's got a squeeze box
Daddy never sleeps at night

Penny Lane for any number of reasons or no reason at all, good feelings though.
Ventura Highway by America, especially here at the forums when I read of Jamis.
When the Levy Breaks, Led Zepplin, when storms are approaching these days.
MANY more but I'll leave it at that, I've waisted quite enough of your time.

I hate Jimmy Buffet's voice and music. Of course I hear it all the time down here and actually hum the crap when not paying attention.

If it's too old, normally I do my best to exorcise them.

I wish it was the old songs. My 11 yr old daughter likes to listen to Radio Disney in the car. Man the kids and their music today. To say that some of those songs are pretty bad would be putting it mildly. Now get off my lawn dagnabit!

GIRL FROM IPANEMA
(Vinicius DeMoraes / Norman Gimbel / Tom Jobim)

Tall and tanned and young and lovely
the girl from Ipanema goes walking
and when she passes
each man she passes
goes Aaah!

When she moves it's like a samba
that swings so cool and sways so gently
that when she passes
each man she passes
goes Aaah!

Oh - but he watches so sadly
How - can he tell her he loves her
He - would just give his heart gladly

But each day when she walks to the sea
She looks straight ahead not at he

Tall and tanned and young and lovely
the girl from Ipanema goes walking
and when she passes
he smiles
but she doesn't see
no she doesn't see
she just doesn't see...

I used to hum or sing this constantly while on the bike. Not so much of late.. Probably will following this thread.

I wake up with a song in my head every single day. Not even necessarily a song I've heard the previous day or even recently. I think my dreams must have a soundtrack.

This morning it was "Frank Sinatra" by Cake.

Wow, I never heard an english-language version, I always wondered what it meant.
Now I've got this in my head instead of K.C. and the Sunshine Band, much better, thanks!

Glad I could help.

I hear this song in my head on most of my rides, except when really "droping the hamer"(then it's Buckcherry's song, Crazy Bi***).

The version sung by Nat King Cole is the best. I dig this song.
