Very cool RC SR71 Blackbird

For you RC enthusiast out there check out the video. I'm not into RC's myself but I'm newly retired Air Force so I though it was a pretty cool video.

That sounds awesome. Looks tough to fly. It looks like maybe he changed the outer section of the wings to a slight dihedral to make it more stable on the roll axis.

Probably costs a fair bit more to build than those RC helicopters jsharr or whoever is always complaining about draining his wallet.

Nice - sign this guy up for the UAV patrol. Just watching it land was impressive.

That is truly impressive.

My all time favorite is this flying boat (it drops depth charges too!) - http://www.airwaveyachts.com.au/Aircraft/Index.html

Back around 1990 I worked for several summers at NASA Dryden. They just commissioned
a SR-71 and treated us to a low flyby.

The earth shook...

A truly magnificent machine.

real scale model turbojets, 2 of them? hard to tell, might just be one, I think its just one with the exhaust exiting the fuselage in the center back

in the past 15 years most use ducted fans driven by 2 stroke glow motors for jet R/C models but in the last few years scale turbojets are available

those ducted fan units sound like high pitch chain saw driving a vacuum cleaner, seriously, in that video it sounds like turbojet

when that guy is starting it you can see him used compressed gas or he's feeding it ether possibly, that's how you have to start a turbojet--force air into it to get it spinning up around 40% then turn on the fuel and light it, after that its a self sustaining process

if it was a ducted fan you'd see a starter motor in his hand and probably a battery with a connector for a glow plug or plugs
