What Is Your Ultimate Career Goal?

New guy joined our work-group; we have cubes and our supervisor was having a casual conversation about work goals... and the new guy was mentioning his work goals - now, we harass each other in our section all the time, so I walked around the wall, clapped him on the shoulder, and said "my main long-term goal is to have a regular bowel movement 3-4x a week."

And that IS a worthy goal. How about you?

Bluevelo you need to eat more fiber or something. Three to four times a week is not good.

I don't know if I could handle daily... that sounds like too much work. The *goal* is a gradual glide path to retirement...

That's not nearly ambitious enough.

I do have a secondary goal, and that is to become Lord God King Emperor.

More fiber will help that, too.

What, your workplace doesn't allow shorts?

This is something I've NEVER been able to get. Most places, women can wear a skirt that barely covers her butt, but a guy can't wear shorts that usually are just above the knee in most styles? Ridiculous.

I meant no clothing below the waist.

In theory, we "could" wear shorts at work, but its probably not a good idea. They don't like it being too casual in the event that customers may be on site, among other things. Customers on site is not thaaat rare either.

Shorts are never anything but casual. (Do not speak to me of the abominations called 'dress shorts'.) Skirts can be professional. Unfortunately not all people are blessed with a dress code radar.

I find muumuus to be both tasteful and decorative.

My career goals are to be able to sustain a healthy family life and love for all my outdoor stuff while working a job I love as little as possible.

At this point, I pretty much just need the woman and family part.

You should try wearing a skirt to work.

Anyone complains, call it a kilt and/or scream sexism.
