I don't use youtube, so I am only presuming the thread is about the Great Lakes ship.

Since Gordon Lightfoot's ballad, The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, I have been fascinated. And on a trip across the continent in 2006 with Machka I got close to the wreck site (from the shore, of course) and read up a fair bit on the subject.

I was intrigued by the underwater pictures taken when the wreck was finally discovered, a remarkable feat in itself.

No-one knows what caused the pride of the fleet to sink -- and if you listen to Lightfoot's ballad, that becomes clear. But the storms that whip through that part of the Great Lakes system must be really scary!
