I would like a studio closer to the office

Not that I have the resources but ... if I could, it would be GREAT to keep a house in the suburbs and a small studio really close to the office. With a 12.5h shift and a 3h commute (round trip) from the suburbs, it would be a refreshing change to keep a place to crash during the work days.

I had co-workers that rented rooms, or dorms, near the work place. They never looked sleep depraved.

1. Have you considered extended-stay hotel/motels?
2. I have been accused of being depraved while being sleep deprived.
3. IIRC, your sister is staying with you to help with the kids. Are they okay with this idea to stay away during the week?

1) Yes... I've done it. But I'll like some place where I could let/keep stuff. Like keeping a small fridge with enough food and sodas for the whole week.

2) Whoops

3) I don't have the kids on my work days. I have them on my days off (I have 15 days off every month). My sister won't miss me either... on my work days I get home, say hi and go right to bed... then wake up 25 minutes before heading out to work.

If all you're looking for is a place to sleep, stash some clothes and a little food, then one of these or one from this company could fit the bill. You might want to get a folding bike if you plan on riding any during your work days, though.
