Apple iPod Touch?

I'm planning to pick up a 64GB model as a gift this week - any thoughts/feedback* before I buy?

*I mean, besides this:

Pretty handy, my brother and friends have them. I'd get one but I'm holding out for an iPhone in a couple years. My brother had problems with his first one; started freezing after 11 months or so. He'd have to do a hard reset several times. Got it replaced 12 months after he bought it from the campus computer store. My only beef with them is that the screen gets dirty and it's awkward to use while exercising. Oh, and the whole proprietary thing, but that's been beaten to death here and elsewhere.

You can't go wrong with it, especially with it now being 64GB. It's the absolute best music player you can get now, no questions asked.

here it is. This thing is amazing. I dropped my touch right on the corner and the screen cracked. My friend who works at Otterbox gave me one and we started throwing my Touch around. It's a shock resistant, impact resistant, amazing little piece of technology.

I usually download the whole TDF (around 13gb) online and transfer it to my ipod classic (80gb). Then I can watch it on the go. The touch would be awesome because of it's bigger screen.

+1 to these. My boyfriend got them for his, and they keep the screen from getting scratched, along with being easy to clean greasy finger prints off of.

iPod with dying battery = car audio solution.

I'm still running my iPod MINI in my vehicle. Works fine but the battery won't hold a charge for long. That's ok in the car because the hookup constantly charges it. I use the Touch for everything else.

I wouldn't worry about the battery, I've got the first generation touch, two years old no signs of battery issues at all. The way I see it I've more than gotten my money out of it. For simply playing music, I can't seem to dent the battery indicator. Running apps and playing games is usually 3-4 hours before the battery dies.

I've got a 32GB one just shy of 2 years old that's been working great for me. Despite a fair bit of abuse the screen is unscratched (the back is a different story), and it works great. I don't know that I personally would spend the money for one, but I'm super glad to have it and enjoy it thoroughly!

I picked up the 64 GB yesterday but the store had an older Otter case that was tres bulky - on the web it looks like a newer one is slimmer so I am gonna wait to see if I can find it. I also learned you can't use the invisible shield and the otter, so maybe might wait and see which the SO prefers.

I actually like the feel of the otterbox I have. It's very ergonomic and feels just as good as the iPod sans case.

is yours "the defender?" That's the one I looked at. I think Tekserve just had the older version? It was for gen 2-3, but just looked real big (the sales clerk thought so too).

yeah, it's surprisingly comfy. I carry my ipod around in my pocket and the extra bulk doesn't feel that different.
