Bike Forums wished me a happy birthday.

I got an e-mail saying "I hope this birthday is your best one yet, go ride your bike!"

Despite that I don't have a bicycle (I won't get it until Christmas due to money constraint, as I'm a college student), I'd like to thank Bike Forums for wishing me a happy birthday.

In foo, our birthday gifts are much stranger, to say the least. That said, I am happy to inform you that:

Come on ya'll, where is the cake bike and the queen of google, Tude et al? You only get one birthday a year on this planet, so let's make it count.

Thanks.

Bikes are great for short distances, since I won't be traveling more than 3 miles most of the time. It's also great in case I miss the bus to Valencia Community College East, even if I stand at a bus stop, because there are bus drivers out there who don't stop for those who are visually impaired (I have a cane with me). The bus stop from my apartment (back of the apartment complex to the front date is about 4 to 5 minutes) is about 10 minutes away. After about 3 minutes from the front gate to the intersection, I have to cross 2 streets to get to the other side of Chickasaw Trail to get to the bus stop.

Now if only I could use Wi-Fi at a bus stop while waiting for the bus... That way, I won't be so bored. Surfing the Internet with my Samsung Ace (Windows Mobile 6.1) is kind of small but I cannot tether my smartphone to my Ubuntu netbook.

Bikes are great for long distances too, Grayson.

Just increase your time/distance a little more each day and before you know it, 3 miles will be a drop in the bucket!

Right. Once I get to know the area around Orlando. I know some parts of Tallahassee almost well enough without a bike. Heh...

Well, I gotta catch the bus (I hate to depend on buses for such short distances...).

I'm here, more lurking than anything - find the getting to the last of the thread without posting is hard, so I'm just waiting for that buggy to be worked out ...

But I found this cake - Happy Birthday -- I'd even eat it!
