My poor boy

Well it is shotgun deer season here in Ohio and my youngest son's first time out. Long story short...on opening day we had a really nice eight pointer and he missed. I spent a bit of time convincing him that he didn't "suck"...his words. We had a great time and I convnced him that what it was all about. Poor kid just wanted to keep up with his big brother who's first deer was an eight pointer and is currently in boot camp at Parris Island...HOORAAH. I was shocked that he wanted to hunt, but it is a tradition. Family is what it is about and we had a great weekend at the cabin. Thanks for reading.

I have missed quite a few in my day. Keep it up and he will soon be putting serious amounts of venison in the freezer! Being out there is the greatest part. The stories of the ones that got away are fun as well!

I've missed them all, except for the two I took out with my Jeep, and that one that my friend hit and was to much of a sissy to drag off the road. Why is it that he can eat meat with the best of them but calls in the vegetarian to do the dirty work?

Tell your boy to take heart - my youngest (17) never wanted to go hunting, and refused to take the hunter's safety course. This year he went on a drive with his girlfriend's family, and his girlfriend (all 93 pounds of her!) bagged an 8 point. He came home & wanted to go hunting the next morning (landowner's do not need a license in WV), to which we refused - no safety course, no gun. Well, one can now take the course on-line, so he spent the next 5 hours doing that... the course is timed, and that's how long it takes!.... all for the priviledge of getting rained on and "only" getting a doe. I'm supposing he'll try again this weekend.

Slugs, not shot. But yeah, you have to be fairly close. It's best because of all the trees, anyway.

(for the record, I do not hunt. I did once, many years ago. I thought that it was way too much work)

In NY is shotgun only (or blackpowder or bow), no rifles.

Oh, I was not referring to hunting deer. I was more interested in knowing if you are allowed to use an AK-47 to open a beer can.

Yes, but only if you are wearing overalls and not if you are wearing a shirt. All these rules do not apply if you are sporting a mullet, it which case you are required by LAW, seriously, I would not lie to you, you are required by law to open your beer with an AK, unless you are in a school zone, in which case, you let your second grader open the beer, unless he is under 18.

My brother here hunts with shotgun, and during the time he can use black power, and he and his wife and 2 kids hunt with bow.

That sounds way too complicated jsharr. However, I have another question for you. If there is a couch on fire in the woods and nobody is there to watch it, is Hillary_2016 still a ****?

Just to save you some future embarrassment, the Marine's call is "OOO-RAH". No "H" on there. The Army's is "Hu-ah".
