I got a call today from a vet in a town 20 miles away today.
A woman, who had purchased a "rescue dog" for $200.00, brought him in for rabies shot.

The vet scanned the RIFD chip and I got Cassius back!

And Cassius is still going to get a younger, redder, brother in April.

Whoot! Allen, that is very good news. It's a bit sad for the poor lady who thought she was purchasing a rescued dog though.

He didn't recognize me when he saw me, but went nuts when he smelled me.
He's been running abound sniffing everything twice and chewing on the cat.

congrats, that is great news very good reason to chip your pets and possibly children.

I was just wondering how odd (messy?) my place must look. I have one bike leaning against the back of the couch, the other bike propped in front of the bathroom door, the rollers sitting in another doorframe, and a stepladder pretty much in the middle of the room. Did you know you can suspend a bike between the legs of a stepladder with a bungie cord so you can adjust the disc brakes?

Very big of you. But the woman who brought the dog in was defrauded for $200. I hope she is pursuing a remedy.

+1 (if she is telling the truth...wouldn't a rescue place scan any animal for an id tag as a matter of procedure?)

Saw one of the guys from Bob Seger's band at Panera. He was chatting it up with a couple fans I believe he met on the street, and they decided to all go eat lunch and talk about the old days. Not one of them was under 60.

I could not have cared less, since I'm not a Seger fan, but I thought it was ironic on account of my current Reed and Dickinson avatar.

Good god almighty!
The animals around here are having a hell of a week.
#4 just drug this into the house, still alive (although barely--the snake, cat is fine and trying to judo throw Cassius right now).

At least I think #4 is a cat and not a mongoose.

Good grief, Allen.

And I thought having big spiders in my backyard was bad.

I'm not sure. She wasn't there when I picked Cassius up.
I'm just glad I got my dog back.

Copperhead? or Brown Water Snake? I can't see the head of it very well. Either way, I guess the reptilian world has had enough of this winter also.
