Actually, I already have one, but I needed it bad.
Found out today the company I am working for is being sold. Well- 90% of it. The remainder, essentially my division, is becoming its own company, which will consist of my boss and myself, plus a few freelancers.
On one hand, I'm pretty stoked - many opportunities lie before me. Since returning to the company 6 months ago (you may remember its a merger of the company I worked for before I went to Denver) I've felt stifled creatively, and stunted professionally. I've now got the freedom to help develop this brainchild into something pretty awesome.
On the other hand, I'm scared of the unknowns. Where's my next paycheck going to come from? What happens to my benefits? If the new company (which I've essentially become a direct partner in) sinks, I'm going to feel pretty responsible. I'm concerned what may be expected of me might be more than I can deliver. Do I know enough? This is a position I saw myself being in 5+ years from now in my career, not now.
oh man, its been a heck of a year.
