Tamales

My neighbor just delivered them. Tomorrow night I'll put a six pack in the snow, and steam the tamales.

Nice. There's no better winter comfort food than tamales. Unless it's tamales with refried beans and fideo. (Mexican on my mom's side.)

They moved in the same day as us, and we've been pretty good friends ever since. She also makes 4-5 different flavors of ice cream for July 4th.

Holy cow I love tamales, and I've never even had them homemade. They stopped making Derby Tamales.

Now I eat Supremes:

I have been eating Christmas Hallacas (hayaca) for about 2 weeks now along with plenty of Pan de Jamon. I think I added about 10lbs. It's great with Peruvian Aji added. Yumm Yumm

Well, mine are gone as well. Cilantro lime shrimp on the side, and ice cold Corona to wash it all down. [burp]

I live and work in very non-ethnic areas. Whenever I go anywhere I look forward to eating Mexican and Chinese foods.

Tamales? Can get them at the neighborhood Mexican bakery any time I want. They make them off-season too. It is NOM.

Dunno if I wanna make them myself though, as it seems easy but extremely time-consuming to do so. Mexican bakery it is!

Mr. Beanz, we did have empanadas for our Christmas dinner, courtesy of her Argentinian dad, but my girl has never made tamales.
