New Snowboarding Video for the New Year!

I think I've progressed a bit since the very first one we posted.

Fun times!

P.S. Please don't make fun of my wimpy jumps.

That's sweet. I wish I could go snowboarding. Hopefully I'll get to go next winter.

oh god i can't wait to hit brighton, my trip is feb 19-23 staying at brighton lodge. jumps wise, you're too vertical, sit down like you're power squatting on a toliet. you're jumping as if you're shooting a basketball like with your toes, it's different snowboarding. you want to jump flat foot front to back like ollying and landing flat so the board makes a clap when you land. that means you're landing solid as opposed to landing on your toes. When you get up in the air, the air will catch you some and give you the loft slow feel. either way, looks lik you can ride so kudos on the big mtn riding.

your vid just propelled me through my friday afternoon here on the east, i'm hitting a local mtn tomorrow morning I'm so amped. Then brighton in Feb is going to be massive!

Wow, thanks for the tips! I'm at the point where I only want to try out a few small jumps (bigger on pow days of course) and I'm still getting used to the feeling. Part of my problem is speed, too. I'm a bit too apprehensive jumping while going really fast, but I know I just need to push myself to the next level.

How exciting for your trip! Brighton is a favorite for me. It sounds like you're going to be here when all the good snow rolls in. Maybe we'll catch you on the slopes. We practically live up at Milly's we're up there so often.

All is good, you want to be safe first before you begin getting ahead of yourself. Last you need is to end your season early living so close to the freshies, i would truly be gutted if I sustained an injury living an hr from a mtn like Brighton lol. If speed is your problem, don't even mess with jumps. Practice riding comfortably at good speeds, practice your switch and when you can comfortably ride both stances then I say go for the jumps. When you can goofy top to bottom and can turn into either stance, you'll have a better sense of how fast you travel on a board and what directions you should be traveling in.

I personally am more of a big mountain, bowl/chute, trees rider. Not so much the park, I like the quietness and solitude of riding the trees. Has a very humbling appeal to it because it's just you and trees all around. I tell you one thing though, the trees don't move and it's the thin ones that really bite (i know from experience lol).

I LOVE riding the Brighton trees. It's an amazing, peaceful experience! I'm all right on my goofy (regular!) side, but I have yet to do a whole run that way! I'm going to try that on the next run, thanks!

Hey, you’re getting good.
I'm jealous.
Knee surgery in October has me out of commission all winter.

Thanks! They are super fun to ride to. And I'm totally obsessed with them right now. Thinks it's time to download a new album.

You are really getting better Shadiyah, looking so relaxed and having fun! Love the bluebird day!

For a bit more fun and safety, Joe needs one of these http://www.amazon.com/VholdR-1102-We...3058898&sr=1-5

You're just jealous because we can ride sideways. My helmet has saved my head more than once in the trees. And the sports earbuds fit great underneath!

Sorry for all the face time, playing around with different ways to hold the camera.

Shifty, how is the snowpack in the PNW? Heather and I are thinking about taking a long winter road trip, hitting up a few resorts in WY, MT, ID and maybe further west. Thinking end of Jan / Early Feb.

We are having an awful snow year in the PNW. It's been too warm, so ski areas are getting rain, it's pretty bad. Reports are the same from Alaska through Oregon, not good.

We have a 50% of normal snow pack here... at least we avoid the rain, another small disturbance is expected in a few days. Time to get my dance on.
