I have a few questions.

Is the bus bulletproof?
Will there be an ammunition surcharge?
Is a gang sign translation book provided?

And is air support provided? Apache's or A-10's in a racetrack pattern, perhaps?

No need for all that. I've seen a lot of LA's trash in Phoenix while out walking and jogging. Even big bad LA thugs turn around and go the other way in a hurry when you're so much as carrying a sidearm visibly. Bullies and criminals attack the weak, and tend to be cowards.

Pffft, you can go to all those places on a regular Metro bus. Costs $5 for an all-day pass and you get a REAL gangland experience. Bonus points if you get lost on the bus system and have to approach sorta-shady characters for directions to get back to the safer parts of town.

This could be an interesting tour. Personally, I like prison tours. There is usually a lot more going on than meets the eye of the casual observor.

Heck, I have a minivan that I can use to tote six people around for two hours at $65 per tour. I will even throw in a few snacks and a bottle of water to make it worthwhile. I can't believe someone would stoop so low and come up with this type of entertainment. On the other hand, it is called "business."

It's like those Haight-Ashbury hippie tours they had in the late sixties. Except now you might get shot.

I know a couple of guys that work up there and they say the neighborhoods are pretty safe early in the morning.

Reading the website and associated links, Alfred Lomas, the founder of the program, seems to be a stand-up guy. Have a look into it, he is striving to build a more 'community' feeling, it seems. Good for him.

It's currently closed, I think. Dunno when it reopens.

True story: I got lost in the Florence district around dusk. I passed my bus stop because I was sleeping, and ended up there. It's not as unsafe as people think.

Agreed, I pass that area often on my scooter. I have never had a problem with anyone on the street. I also own a house in the 90003 zip code and rarely experienced any problems with any of the neighbors. In fact, they are very embracing and willing to help when needed. The problem I had was with the police not getting back to me when asked to do some community servicing.
