People in the O.C. didn't appreciate how the show spread awareness of what life is like there?

It was entertaining when it started but I quit watching after the second season as it was the same thing over and over again.

shall we list all the shows on TV we wouldn't miss? I think it would be easier to list the good ones instead.

but also, I challenge any of us do anything worth watching on a regular basis.

That's probably Pcad's real issue. I bet he spent the last few years angling for appearances on the show, and is mad because they won't let him.

Why would you pay for these bikes? Fully chromed motor sitting there being showered with sparks because a bracket didn't fit. Same thing with Boyd... But then again that's TV in general. How many dead people can Angela Landsbury run into?

Forte, of course. As God, I'm a God of the people, so go forth, buy Forte, and you have plenty of money for beer, because I can assure you that the bar service in Heaven pretty much sucks.

Now you've got to get them to close the shop. I could never understand how people could buy anything from them once they saw how the bikes were made. The only other real surprises were (1) that it was still on the air and (2) that it had gone so many seasons...

If you see how many grossly overweight people there are around here sitting on Harleys, rather than getting real exercise, and wearing Harley gear - its just disgusting. I have YET to see a Harley rider or gear wearer that wasn't at least 30 pounds overweight, minimum. Including women.

Come to think of it, I have to agree with you. Other motorcycles, different story, but Harley, yup...

I've seen heavy people on rice rockets but generally they tend to be younger and not quite as out of shape as Harley riders are. I don't understand why some people hit 40 or 50 and think they have to put on black leather and ride a noisy, stinky, uncomfortable machine (same goes for snowmobiles and jet skis... why not xcountry ski, snowshoe, or use a sailboard/sailboat and experience the outdoors more naturally?) to stay "young and sexy". What really kills me are these custom choppers and the tricycles I see. I saw on the other day, man and woman riding one, and they're pulling a fracking trailer behind that's the size of the small U-haul one you can rent with all their traveling crap. Now, they've probably dropped more on that thing + trailer than a nice sedan would run, and you've got a much better chance of walking away somewhat unscathed from a crash in a car vs. a stupid custom tricycle with a frickin' airplane engine (at least its that loud) attached to it.

correct.
The new show will focus on an aging cyclist that lives in the back woods of Orange County. His various struggles with trying to make computer drawings, addiction to overspending on bicycles, and an obsessive need to post on BF.net.
It will chronicle his never ending battle to overcome a 50 yard, 1% grade road he has named "Mt. Doom" without stopping for an hour of rest.......quite a fitting replacement to the OCC legacy. Look for the premiere in fall of 2010.....

Yeah, they could dress up in skintight spandex, ride around on $10K bicycles and clog up traffic. The nerve of some people.
