Have any of you tried Chatroulette? Potentially very NSFW and kids, depending on who ends up on the other end... but strangely fascinating.
This New York Magazine piece describes it well... it feels a bit like randomness you used to get in the old MOOs/MUXen/MU*s.
Earlier this evening I ended up singing Handel's Hallelujah chorus with a bunch of kids at a music school in Norway

No one? Really? Huh. It's not the most amazing thing ever, but it is a great time-waster. Thought that might appeal to people here
Yeah, it's definitely hit-or-miss. The guys I saw usually didn't have the camera pointed at their faces... But the Norwegian kids made it all worth it. First they made me play them a song on my guitar, then I asked them to sing -- they burst into a song in four-part harmony. The Hallelujah chorus came next, though lag made it difficult to sing along.
Lots of Chinese people, too. Talked to a guy in Chongqing for a while. I've found that having a guitar or some other prop (a stuffed chicken also worked) attracts more interest than if I'm just sitting there.
I am encouraged to waste time at work (difficult to explain) but the webcam thing would be a no-go. I don't have time to waste time at home, though.
