I've had it for about 3 years. I'm happy with it.
When I first had it, it was faster than the shared T3 line I had been accessing, and was cheaper, too. I was promised download speeds of 10 Mbps (+/- 1 Mbps), but was getting faster speeds. Before I moved to a new building, they changed the tier I was on to be 15 Mbps down, but I was getting 20+ Mbps down. In the new place I was lucky to get 13 Mbps. With DSL, your speed varies depending on how close to the "station" you are. With Cable Modem, the speed varies depending on how many users are on the Node. I recently moved within the building, and it seems that the speeds are slightly faster than they were, with the same equipment.
The speeds will also vary depending on time of day. In the evening, when more people are home & online, it's a bit slower than it is during the day, or late at night. Stay on them, though, because they guarantee you a speed, and you should get that speed, with a 1 Mbps variation.
I'm also one of the few people who is happy with Time Warner's customer service. Except for a single incident 3+ years ago, I have had no problems with them. When I moved two weeks ago, I made the appointment for the cable guy to do the disconnect at the old place and connect at the new place for Saturday between 11am and 3pm. He called at 11 to say he would be there in 5 minutes. I had to go down to the old place to get the cable modem & my laptop and I ran into him in the lobby. The whole visit took less than 45 minutes, and most of that was us waiting for my TiVo to power up, which takes 20-30 minutes.
