    Go figure.

This was recalled due to *ahem* "Laceration Hazard". Hmm. Imagine that.

"Gerber has received five reports of individuals cutting themselves while using the Gator Machete, all of whom required stitches. Gerber has received no reports of injuries associated with use of the Gator Machete Jr."

I don't think my machete is much of a laceration hazard unless I'm swinging it. But then, it was $20 at a surplus store.

That one... well... it's a Gerber, what do you expect?

So will they be recalling your entire knife collection next?

Well I thought ALL knives were laceration hazards. Crazy how they didn't think of a choil before releasing it for sale. Some jimping on the handle would have been nice.

Yeah, so how are they going to redesign all of these terribly dangerous knives to be safer?

And what of these engine-less, airbag-less, door-less two-wheeled contraptions that people unsafely go out onto public streets with? Surely they should all be recalled and made safer also.

They should ban cycling, motorcycling, scooters of all types, and driving any car with a GVWR of less than... 6000 lb., or any car without 73 airbags. For the children.

(which would leave my family in a bit of a spot... I have 2 bikes and my wife drives a Fit)

Poor design. The saw sticks and your hand slides onto the blade. Should have a short guard on the blade side.

This just goes to prove that using a lightsaber is a much better method of slicing cheese.

Hello, as a project in one of my astronaut classes I have been assigned to design a machete specifically
for bicycling applications. Do you folks have a preferred method of carrying your cycling machete? Have you had any issues
with the design of the machete itself? Schrader or presta? Lacerating or non-lacerating? Imperial or metric? Reflective?
Waterproof? Carbide inserts? Tubeless? Carbon fiber? Low-calorie?
Thanks in advance, any response is appreciated.
