What preschool did you go to?

Just to one-up Botto.

*Studies have shown that students who attend preschool are more likely to go to college than those who start in kindergarten (duh, that's because most parents who enroll their kids in preschool give a chit about edumucation).

I went to a Pre-K program at Northrich Baptist Church in Richardson, Texas from around 1697-1969. Went to Kindergarten at Northrich Elementary in the Richardson ISD in 1969 and moved to Oklahoma on the last day of the school year in 1970.

We played 7-up alot as I recall.

I went to a place called Happy Acres Ranch. Every day, they made us ride bikes and go climb all the local hills. On single speed coaster brake bikes with banana seats and stuff. Then it got really tough when they'd take off the training wheels...

Friends Meeting House in Wilton.

What's interesting (crazy?) is the SAME TEACHER was still teaching when my nephews started going 38 years later. She passed away recently. Great lady, just wonderful.

Is this what Foo is for? I never go to Foo.

Lemme insert a road thing here so it stays here.

I also got married at the Meeting House. I drove there with my bike on the roof. And my best man was my former leadout man, teammate, Bethel helper, and fellow bike shop person. I had a lot of other friends there from the bike world, all long time friends from back in the bike shop days, the Carpe Diem Racing days (when it was a team based out of a shop in Stamford).

And I was late for my rehearsal dinner because I was on a ride with said guys. They dragged me back to the cars, three big leadout type guys team time trialing together with me hanging on for dear life. A recently-ex ex-pro, two ex-Cat 3s. It was nice.

Of course I blogged about it:

I have seen lots of changes in my life. One of them being Pre School. Others were things like, television, seat belts, fuel injection, cordless tools, baby car seats. cell phones, and the worst of them all by far, the thing that just drives me nuts, and if I used it in my business way back when I would have gone out of business, is the dreaded telephone menu system. I would love to castrate the guy who invented it with a couple of bricks.

The pre-school my mom ran in the house: me, my brother who's 1.5 years older, and the twins, 11 months younger. We all went to college. It's not going to pre-school that precurses college, it's having parents who have the intelligence, caring forethought, and patience to teach their children while they play with them from the time the children are born. People manged to attend college well before pre-schools existed.

Used to be a pre-school program at the Cathedral of Guadalupe here in Dallas. My parents took me there so that the nuns could teach me English.
