Wearing out the keys

After four years of typing, several of my black MacBook's keys are wearing away. Where there used to be an "E" there's now just a big white spot. Also going soon are "A", "S", "N", "O" and "C". After that, "I" will be next in line.

Based on the level of wear, I think my most frequently typed sentence has been "Canoes encase a noise." Or maybe "Cease! Canonise a nose."

I've never worn away the letters on a keyboard before. Do I get a prize?

Yes you win a prize! you and me both. I wore out about 8 keys on my macbook quite a while ago and then had some of them replaced at the apply store. I know have a new keyboard that a friend installed for me and the a, s, and l keys are beginning to show some wear.

Do you play any musical instruments by chance?

This knowledge puts you at a distinct advantage when playing "Wheel of Fortune"

My advice, however, is to skip that.

According to Wikipedia the English letter frequency is "ETAON RISHD LFCMU GYPWB VKXJQ Z" so your T should have worn out well before the S and C so it appears that most of your typing is not in English but probably in computerese (think select all, save, new, open, and copy).

Yes, I do -- guitar (classical). Why do you ask?

Yeah, I'm a bit confused about the T's lack of wear....

I don't think it has anything to do with my long guitar fingernails... the long nails are on my right hand, but four of the six keys showing the most wear are on the left side of the keyboard.

I play classical piano and tend to type as if I'm playing on a piano with a heavy action. I'm beginning to think the wear on my keyboard stems from that. I can also type 110 wpm with 95% accuracy even though I don't touch type. It's purely from all those finger exercises. lol.

I had an old keyboard that I had worn out WASDFC. In fact, the letters were not just worn off, but the plastic was eroded with little ridges in them from my fingernail hitting them.

My wife is on her second keyboard like that. The spacebar also has a dent on it on one side, and the "hand rest" area of the keyboard is worn away - silver keyboard with a white area where it has worn through the plastic.

You have been spelling "Sequoia" to much.

Only word I know of that has all five vowels.

My keyboard have the A C I L M T P faded out (in this order), in contrast Q K H J Z X Y are brand new. (it would have been included W also but wasd keys are used for more than typing )
But I don't type in English often.
